Policies & Procedures For Wilma Kinsman Biblical Trauma Coaching
My Role:
I am certified as a biblical trauma coach through nothing is wasted ministries. I am not a licensed therapist. I have experienced my own trauma. I offer a non-judgmental safe space to feel your pain and know that your experience is valid. Your response is normal for your abnormal circumstances.
Although I have trauma education that is the same for everyone, I will not come to our sessions with pre planned cliques or Band-Aids that are for everyone. I will base our sessions on your immediate needs. This is based on your trauma/personality and needs at the time of our sessions. As a trauma coach I plan to let you (the client) lead our sessions. I will walk with you and be a sheltering tree.
My desire is to empower you to reach your goals. I will walk beside you and hold space as you share your trauma/shame. I will help carry your burdens as you walk through and OUT OF the shame.
We will walk together believing the following verses:
“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.””
Matthew 11:28-30 ESV
I believe that our Lord and Savior provides for us a safe place to be ourselves and grow in His love. I will rely on the Holy Spirit to guide us along the way.
Disclosures:
Trauma coaching will reveal truth in areas of your life and will likely affect your close relationships. Setting boundaries are necessary to keep yourself safe but may upset those close to you.
As a Certified Trauma Coach, I act as a mandatory reporter. This means that if I become aware that a minor, disabled person or elderly person is currently being abused I am mandated to report the abuse to the appropriate governing agency.
I have limitations as a trauma coach on the things we can work through in your recovery journey. If these situations arise, together we will search for a licensed therapist to help you. If you are in a place where there are risks to your safety – you are suicidal, significantly self-harming, in the midst of an active addiction – I will help you find someone who is competent to deal with that particular issue. You do not have to stop seeing me, but we must bring in another professional who has the expertise with whatever safety issue is at hand to help you with those issues.
If you find yourself in a crisis there is no shame in reaching out for help. The National Suicide Hotline is available at 1.800.273.8255
Zoom is not HIPPA compliant and, therefore I cannot guarantee, with 100% certainty, that information shared through Zoom will be safe from a data breach. However, I do keep all client records secured in ways that anyone other than myself does not have access to them.
